Redmi K30 will be the first phone with 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor

The forthcoming Redmi K30 will be the brand’s first-ever dual-mode 5G smartphone. Along with that, it will be also the first phone in the world to feature the all-new 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor according to a new teaser posted by the brand on social media. Additionally, the brand has also confirmed a 4G variant of the phone which was leaked alongside the 5G model a couple of weeks back.

According to a set of teaser images posted by Redmi on Weibo, the upcoming Redmi K30 will come equipped with a quad-camera setup at the back and a dual-camera setup on the front. The rear camera array will feature the brand new 64MP Sony IMX686 1/1.7″ sensor accompanied a 120-degree field-of-view ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP macro sensor which allows users to get as close as 2cm to the subject and a depth sensor for portrait shots. Whereas on the front, the phone will sport a 20MP snapper coupled with a depth sensor which will be nested in the dual punch-hole cutout located at the top right corner of the display.

Other specifications of the Redmi K30 include the newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, a 6.67-inches FHD+ IPS LCD panel, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 4,500mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging technology. The Redmi K30 in both 5G and 4G versions will be unveiled on December 10 in China.
