Redmi, the newly formed sister brand of Mi has been teasing a flagship since a while. Courtesy to a recent Weibo post the Chinese brand has confirmed it to be Redmi K20 – born to rival flagship killers such as OnePlus 7 Pro and others. Now, in a new Weibo post, it’s been confirmed the launch of Redmi K20 is slated for 28th May in China.
The Redmi K20 indeed comes with the latest and greatest Mobile Platform – the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. Of course, it’s a quite deviation from what Redmi has been doing all these while. That is, to launch low to mid-tier smartphones affordable for common people. Nonetheless, with the K20, Redmi is stepping to the highly competitive flagship territory.
As per the recent reports and rumors, the Redmi K20 should possess an all screen display with the motorized front-camera or pop-up form similar to Vivo Nex and the recently launched OnePlus 7 Pro. It makes sense as the Redmi K20 is destined to directly pit against the latest from OnePlus. Moreover, it’s confirmed the K20 to have Sony IMX586 48MP sensor at the rear.
It’s to be seen whether the K20 will make its way to other nation such as India. Recently, the flagship was also teased by Xioami India as heads-up to the OnePlus 7. Literally, we can infer that the device will see India launch soon than later. However, there is speculation that the K20 might be re-branded as POCO F2 in India, though we’ve nothing concrete to back the report.
That being said, further details such as pricing and other fancy features and specs of the K20 will be out within weeks. Till then stay tuned with us for major cover-ups regarding the Redmi K20.
