A couple of years back, Xiaomi launched the Redmi K20 Pro featuring a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED display. Under the hood, the phone powers Snapdragon 855 and Android 9.0 (Pie) out of the box. The device carries a 48MP triple rear camera and a Motorized pop-up 20 MP front snapper. Interestingly, Redmi K20 Pro sold over 2lakh units in its first official sale in China.

- [August 2, 2021]: Xiaomi is sending the July 2021 security patch to the Redmi K20 Pro. The update is presently unfurling in its home country on build number V12.5.5.0.RFKCNXM. Though the update does not bring any new additions; internally, it improves system security. Moreover, it fixes dozens of CVE’s, thus enhancing privacy.
- [July 7, 2021]: The Redmi K20 Pro is receiving the June 2021 security patch update in India. The build arrives on firmware version V12.0.6.0.QFKINXM weighs about 3.0GB in size. This is a minor bump in safety level and does not bring any new additions. Though, internally the update focuses to improve system security. Moreover, it addresses several bugs and different levels of CVEs.
As usual, the OTA update will be pushed in different batches and may take some time to reach all the users based on their location and carrier. If you don’t receive a notification for the update in the next few days, you may need to manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software Update > Check for the Update.
