November 11 (11/11) or Singles’ Day is considered an auspicious day in the Chinese tradition. There are just 3 days to that date, and fresh rumours suggest two new Xiaomi phones are incoming on that date. In the next two days, Xiaomi will tease the Redmi 5 Plus, and the Redmi 5, according to latest info. The Redmi 5 Plus and Redmi 5 will likely boast of a widescreen (18:9 aspect ratio) display.
Both the two phones have cleared all major legal hurdles, which also points to an impending release. The Redmi 5 Plus has particularly been teased with some renders recently and it was spotted on TENAA as well. It will come with a 5.99-inch display sporting a FHD+ resolution. Xiaomi might fit in a Snapdragon 625 SoC along with 4 GB/3 GB RAM variants. It is expected to be priced 1,299 yuan ($196 approx).
Moreover, the Redmi 5 is expected to be a slimmed down version of the above-mentioned handset. It will have a smaller 5.7-inch screen, also with the 18:9 aspect ratio and Full HD+ resolution. Also, it is tipped to be powered by a Snapdragon 450 chip and 3 GB of RAM. Latest info says the phone will be priced a very affordable 799 yuan ($120 approx).
