Recently, Vivo announced its new device with the name Vivo X Fold (V2178A) in the market. Did this Vivo X Fold folding phone as it sounds from its name? Let’s discuss some key factors to know better. In the tech industry both unfold and fold phones are available and built by a Chinese manufacturer. It comes with high-end features that give users the best user quality and an amazing display. The device is available in two colors which are Black and Blue. Besides this, the device is available in the market at a price of around 1300 EUR.

As we already know that Vivo added plenty of big changes including changes in design, displays, software, and so on. The Vivo X Fold handset comes with 8.03 inches, 206.5 cm2 Foldable LTPO AMOLED display with ~88.0% screen-to-body ratio. The display produces a crisp quality image, reduces smear, and protects eyes with low blue light. It offers a 120Hz refresh rate, 1B colors, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, 900 nits (typ), and 1200 nits (HBM) display brightness. It has a display resolution of 1916 x 2160 pixels with a 20:9 aspect ratio while having a pixel density of 360 PPI.

Vivo X Unfold handset comes with 6.53 inches AMOLED display and has a 1080 x 2520 pixels display resolution with a 21:9 ratio. The dimension of the unfoldable measures 162 x 144.9 x 6.3 mm/ foldable measures 162 x 74.5 x 14.6 mm and weighs around 311 g (10.97 oz).  The display is well protected with Corning® Gorilla® Glass5 on the front side as well the back also. The device is IP53 rated protecting from dust and water splashes.

The Vivo X Fold device supports Nano-SIM. It boots Origin OS Ocean based on Android 12. It is powered by Qualcomm SM8450 Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (4 nm) chipset coupled with an Octa-core (1×3.00 GHz Cortex-X2 & 3×2.50 GHz Cortex-A710 & 4×1.80 GHz Cortex-A510) processor. Also, it supports Adreno 730 GPU. Moreover, it comes in two storage patterns – 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 internal memory with 12GB LPDDR4X RAM.

As far as the camera is concerned, the Vivo X Fold packs a quad-camera module consisting primary camera of 50 MP (wide) with f/1.8 aperture, a 48MP (ultrawide) camera, 12MP (telephoto), and an 8 MP (periscope telephoto). Furthermore, the primary camera is capable of recording videos at 8K@30fps, 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60fps, and gyro-EIS videos. It holds up Zeiss optics, Zeiss T* lens coating, Dual-LED flash, Dual Pixel PDAF, Laser AF, OIS 5x optical zoom, and panorama features.

The selfie camera is 16 MP (wide) with f/2.5 aperture which can record at 1080p@30fps offers HDR, and Autofocus video capability. The X Fold flagship device consists of Li-Po 4600 mAh capacity non-removable battery. Apart from this, the device carries fast charging with 66W which gives 100% battery level up in just 37 min (advertised). In addition, it grasps fast wireless charging with 50W and reverses wireless charging with 10W which is quite superb.
