With the first month in the first quarter of 2023, everyone was eagerly waiting for the January 2023 update. Google finally dropped the update for Pixel smartphones on January 3. Since the Android 13 QPR2 Beta 1 update with Pixel Feature went live on December 2022, nothing has changed much.
The update is live for the Pixel 4a series and above. It includes Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G UW, Pixel 5, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, and Pixel 7 Pro. Here are the firmware version and manual OTA links of the same.
Google brings fixes for various issues that were present in the previous update. It also fixes security vulnerabilities and improves privacy. The update is already live for Verizon Pixel smartphones. However, the update takes away Home and Wallet shortcuts from Always-On-Display. Google would fix the same in future updates. The next significant update (QPR2 stable) is scheduled for March 2023.
