After successful launching the Android One devices to many Asian countries including India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia in the year 2014. Google has announced that they have their eyes on Philippines.Which would make Philippines the sixth country to join the Android One program.
The handsets will be launched under the leading partners Cherry Mobile and MyPhone to bring Android One smartphones named “Cherry One” and “MyPhone Uno”.These handsets will run Lollipop out of the box and will also include features such as Chrome browser data compression and YouTube Offline.
The exact specs of the smartphones is not disclosed but it would include a dual-SIM connectivity, microSD card slot, FM radio, a removable battery along with front and back cameras. And along with the launch, the partners will be offering the people who will buy Android One devices a reduce costs for over-the-air (OTA) updates and app downloads from Google Play.
