Recently, Oppo sent out media invites for the Find X2 launch on February 22, ahead of MWC 2020 in Barcelona. However, the company has been teasing this particular phone since the Oppo Inno Day event, which was held in December. Additionally, the specs of the phone have been made public by a number of tipsters. If that is not enough, the company’s VP, Brian Shen himself has now teased the display specs of the upcoming Oppo Find X2 on his Twitter profile.
This is my kind of ‘Flagship’ ?
?️ 120Hz Refresh rate
? 2k Resolution
? 240Hz Sampling

Oppo’s Find series of smartphones has always been known for innovation. This series made a comeback after years of hiatus with Find X in 2018. This phone had zero bezels as both front and rear cameras were housed in a motorized pop-up module along with a face authentication system. Unfortunately, the company did not launch a successor in 2019 but assured it to be unveiled in Q1 2020. When talking to media, Oppo teased the Find X to have an industry-leading display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 paired with Snapdragon X55 modem to support both sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G networks, and Sony’s new 2×2 On-Chip Lens Solution for better camera performance in terms of focusing and low-light.

The features teased by the company almost two months ago has been confirmed multiple times via a number of leaks since then. Followed by that, Brian Shen, the Vice President and President of Global Marketing of Oppo now teases the display specs of the Find X2. A day ago he asked his followers on Twitter that what makes an Android smartphone ‘Flagship’ for them. And now, in a follow-up tweet today, he lists down a set of display features that he would like on an Android flagship smartphone. Though it might seem like a normal tweet, he has actually revealed the display specs of the upcoming Oppo Find X2. That is because he is well-known for teasing the features and sometimes even official press renders (Oppo Reno 3 Pro and Oppo Watch) days ahead of the official launch.
Anyways, as per his tweet, the forthcoming Oppo Find X2 will feature a 2K (QHD) display with support for 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz sampling rate. The panel will also have support for HDR content with SDR to HDR conversion and will cover 100% of DCI-P3 colour gamut. Lastly, the screen will be capable of reaching a peak brightness of 1200 nits which is insane for a smartphone. Moreover, as per leaks, the display will have a punch-hole for the front-facing camera.
