This news will cause disappointment to all the proud owners of Oppo Find 5. Oppo recently announced that they have decided to skip on the Android 4.4 Kitkat update for the Find 5. The news has surfaced through Weibo and this is not something Oppo wants to do but the hardware used on the Find 5 does not allow for it.The hardware used in the smartphone, the Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8064  chipset does not allow for the smartphone to run Android 4.4 Kitkat as the necessary hardware binaries are absent on the chipset.
However, there’s still a way f solve this issue and run Android 4.4 Kitkat on your Find 5 an Cyanogen is the one to thank. CyanogenMod 11 Nightly has been built for the Oppo 5 and is is based on Android 4.4 Kitkat. The 11 Nightly is also expected to upgrade soon to a more stable version. So if you own an Oppo Find 7, you can still run it on Android 4.4 Kitkat but you’ll have to get a little off-road and go for the unofficial route.
