Oppo has finally announced the successor of the Reno 7 series in China. The much-awaited Reno 8 lineup includes three smartphones: Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro, and Reno 8 Pro+. Let’s take a quick look at the respective smartphone’s specifications, price, and other details.
The vanilla Oppo Reno 8 features a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a layer of Gorilla Glass 5. The panel offers a 90Hz screen refresh rate and 800 nits of peak brightness. A 4,500 mAh battery makes the device weigh 179-gram and it backs up the device with an 80W fast charging support.
Underneath, an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC powers the smartphone paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Also, the Reno 8 comes with a MariSilicon X chip which intends to improve camera performance. It offers the latest Android 12 out of the box along with ColorOS 12.1 on top.
For optics, the Reno 8 houses a 32MP sensor on the front for selfies and video chats. On the rear side, it carries a couple of 2MP b&w and macro units alongside a 50MP primary lens. The other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner for security and Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and a USB Type-C port for connectivity.
Oppo Reno 8 Pro is also the world’s first handset to equip Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor. The chipset is integrated with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. It also arrives with a MariSilicon X chip. The system’s working depends on a 4500mAh battery that is backed by an 80W Super Flash charging support.
The Reno 8 Pro flaunts a 6.62-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 2400 × 1080 pixels resolution, and a 92% screen-to-body ratio. At the top, the panel secures a 32MP snapper inside a punch-hole cutout. The capacity of the rear camera stands at a 50MP main lens, an 8MP wide-angle unit, and a 2MP macro sensor.
The rest of the features of the Oppo Reno 8 Pro are identical to the vanilla Reno 8.
Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ is built around a large 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display which is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, a 360Hz touch sampling rate, 2412 × 1080 pixels resolution, and a peak brightness of 950 nits.
Under the helm, the model powers a Dimensity 8100 Max SoC and a MariSilicon X chip. The other features of the Reno 8 Pro+, including camera setup, battery capacity, charging speed, OS, and more are similar to the Reno 8 Pro.
