Oppo is an average student in the class of updates. As a new year surprise, the company announced its Reno 5 4G flagship with Android 11 based ColorOS 11.1 pre-installed. With the latest stable Android channel and skin, the device is also inculcating the current safety maintenance level, April 2021 security patch.

The new build for Oppo Reno 5 4G can be identified by firmware version number CPH2159_11_A.25 which weighs around 740MB in size. The fresh software update protects the smartphone from 21 exposures and vulnerabilities from various potential attack vectors. Also, it includes fixes for 30 vulnerabilities that Google term as severe or critical.
As normal updates take place, this as well is having a phase-wise rollout. If you own an Oppo Reno 5 4G, you will receive the latest package shortly. As always, you also have an option to track the build manually by navigating to the device’s Settings -> Software Update -> Download and Install.
Oppo Reno 5 4G
Oppo started this year with two new Reno series smartphones: Oppo Reno 5 and Reno 5 Pro. The Pro variants support 5G while the other one remains with 4G connectivity.
The Oppo Reno 5 4G features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz Full HD panel and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, the smartphone powers an octa-core processor based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC and Adreno 618 GPU. It runs Android 11 based ColorOS 11.1 out of the box paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage configuration.
For shooting purposes, Oppo Reno 5 4G equips a quad-rear camera module consisting of a 64MP primary sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a couple of 2MPs camera to measure macro and depth aspects. On the other side, it houses a 44MP snapper for selfies.
