While Android 11 Beta testing is in full swing for a lot of Android devices, Oppo is lagging behind in terms of updating its eligible devices to Android 10. In the recent past, the company has been rolling out ColorOS 7 update based on Android 10. Just a few days ago, Oppo announced Color OS7 (Android 10) beta update program for Oppo R15, A9 and A9X in China. However, there are a lot of devices that are yet to receive the long pending update. Oppo has recently confirmed that Oppo R15X and Oppo K1 Color OS7 beta testing is scheduled to begin June 29. As usual, beta testing is expected to commence for users in China only and will soon be available in other markets.

This forthcoming update must be the last major update for both devices considering the fact that they were launched in late 2018 with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. Since then the devices were updated to Android 9 and this update will certainly mark an end to their update cycle.
The Color OS7 update, long pending though, is set to bring a lot of new features to Oppo R15X and Oppo K1 and is definitely good news for the users. It is also worth noting that both devices did not appear in Oppo’s list of devices to be updated to Android 10 in the second quarter. Therefore, it is very likely that the devices will be getting this update in the third quarter. It means that the users would need to hold on and wait for the update to hit their devices, as we would always say better late than never.
