OPPO could be the first Chinese OEM to include curved AMOLED displays sourced from Samsung on its device. A new teaser of upcoming OPPO Find X posted by OPPO on its weibo handle possibly confirms the previous report that suggested of the firm including Samsung curved display on its upcoming device. Here’s the OPPO Finder X teaser.
The OPPO Find X should be a flaghip device, considering the profit that Samsung makes by selling its dearer AMOLED displays. Remember, the monopoly Samsung had in the display business such that Samsung Display was the sole-supplier of AMOLED panels for iPhone X. Keeping those general things aside, let us have an overview of the Find X and its rumored specifications.
Courtesy to the previous TENAA visit of two variants: PAFM00 and PAFT00 presumably of the Find X. The device is speculated to flaunt a massive 6.4 inch AMOLED display(now almost confirmed to have an edge-to-edge). AÂ 2.8 GHz octa-core processor, which we think is none other than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, powers the device coupled with 8 GB of RAM. Keeping its lights on is a 3,645mAh non-removable battery.
The TENAA listing also revealed a combo of 16+20MP dual camera capbable of 5× loseless zoom. At its front probably on a notch, might house a selfie shooter of 25MP. Despite, the finished-product may vary slightly and you know very well how these reports or listings have to be taken.
Samsung, for a long time, had packed its flagship devices with its industry leading flexible Edge-to-Edge AMOLED displays. In fact, the technology, so far, has been somewhat a proprietary characteristics of few Samsung flagships. Due to the technical difficulties and costs that perhaps, only Samsung can overcome, other OEMs have kept away from the curved displays. However, with the OPPO leading its way, will this cause other Chinese OEMs too to go for curved display on their devices? Let us know your opinion down in the comment sections.
