Oppo issued an official roadmap regarding the rollout of Android 11 based ColorOS 11 skin. According to the schedule, both Oppo A9 and A5 are eligible to receive the customized skin and will grab the beta version of the same in the second quarter of 2021. For now, these smartphones are acquiring the March 2021 Android security patch update.

The latest package is based on Android 10 based ColorOS 7.1. For Oppo A9, the build bumps the firmware version to CPH1937EX_11_C.75. On the other hand, the update can be identified by version number CPH1931EX_11_C.75Â for Oppo A5.
Keep in note that this is just a push to the security level and does not bring any major features or changes in user experience.

As most of the updates occur, this too is having a phase-wise rollout. If you own an Oppo A9 or A5, you will soon receive a pop-up notification regarding the build. Else you can navigate it via Settings app -> Software Update -> Download and Install.

Oppo A9Â

Oppo A5 offers a similar processor and display as Oppo A9 while the storage option differs to 128GB and 4GB RAM. If we talk about the camera, it holds a quad-rear module with 12MP wide, 8 MP ultrawide, 2 MP macro, and 2 MP depth lens. For selfies, the phone has a single 8MP shooter.
