OnePlus Nord Buds 2 arrives on FCC, confirms 480mAh battery and more

After the launch of the OnePlus Buds Ace in China, the OnePlus Nord Buds 2 is expected to launch soon, as the device has already surpassed several certifications. After confirming moniker and some other details via Bluetooth SIG and IMDA, the OnePlus Nord Buds 2 has finally appeared on FCC. The listing confirms some specifications including the 480 mAh battery capacity of the charging case. However, each earbud carries a 41 mAh battery capacity.

OnePlus Nord Buds 2 supports a DC 5V power supply from the case with 0.9 Ampere current, which roughly translates to 4.5W. While testing, the earbuds were running on firmware version X22E6_07_A.1.0.0. The Charging case measures 22.27*9.29*0.11mm in size. Furthermore, there’s a standard USB Type-C connector for charging.

Previous leaks and certifications revealed the presence of Bluetooth 5.3 for easy and instant connectivity. It will also increase the battery efficiency as BL 5.3 offers rapid switching between low-duty and high-duty cycles. However, we can see some advancements over the OnePlus Nord Buds which offers Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. Otherwise, the 41mAh battery and support for 4.5W charging are quite familiar to its predecessor.

Additionally, the OnePlus Nord Buds 2’s predecessor comes with a 12.4mm titanium dynamic driver, an IP55 rating for sweat and dust protection, and battery standby for up to 30 hours.

We hope the new Nord Buds 2 will bring improved battery standby and connectivity features.
