Since OnePlus had released the stable Oxygen OS 5 for OnePlus 3, 3T and 5 in a timely manner. Apparently, it assigns the OnePlus 5T as the one and only OnePlus device left to taste the Android Oreo. However, users of the latest bezel-less OnePlus flagship can now rejoice, as the Chinese firm has announced the release of Oxygen OS Open Beta based on Android Oreo for OnePlus 5T.
OnePlus calls this initial beta release as the OxygenOS OpenBeta 1. Changelog of the update is as follows:
As per the changelog, the Android Oreo beta package, obviously, brings the all goodies of Android Oreo. Such as, PiP support, Parallel apps feature, Smart Selection and so on. On behalf of OnePlus, as you can see the changes are a new and revamped launcher UI.
The Open Beta 1 bundles this month’s SMR. Most probably, the patch would be dated as 1st December and not the revised patch published on 5th December by Google. If you’re interested to know what all security flaws are being fixed by the patch, visit the Android Security Bulletin.
Well, as the initial Open Beta is now live, it won’t take so long for the OnePlus 5T users to attain the stable build of Android Oreo.
