OnePlus made the impossible happen, and every new launch proved one thing, Never Settle. We’ve all been waiting for the OnePlus 9 series for quite a while. Leaks and early looks weren’t enough for most. And now OnePlus gave us what we’ve been waiting for all this while.

The Trio – OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9R

The OnePlus 9 series includes 3 smartphones, the OnePlus 9, the OnePlus 9R and the OnePlus 9 Pro. The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro are meant for “ordinary” enthusiasts, whereas the 9R is for the “gaming” enthusiasts among you. Let’s have a brief look at the specifications of these three.

Under the hood

Both the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC, and the latter is powered by the Snapdragon 870, which in no doubt can crush anything you throw at it. All models in the new OnePlus 9 series comes with 8-12 gigs of RAM and 128-256 gigs of highspeed storage. The OnePlus 9 and the 9 Pro comes with a 5-layer cooling system and supports Warp Charge T, which will charge the phone from 0 to 100% in just 30 mins. All three models are packed with a 4500mAh battery which would help you push through the day.

These devices will feature the Oxygen OS 11 (except for China), which is a minimal skin on top of Android 11. The frosted design of the back glass of the OnePlus 8 doesn’t seem to have made it to the OnePlus 9.

Display and Camera

The OnePlus 9 Pro is the first phone from the makers with a focus on the camera. It comes with a quad-camera setup at the rear, a 48-megapixel Sony IMX789 primary sensor ( with f/1.8 aperture and both OIS and EIS support). It also houses the 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 secondary sensor with an f/2.2 for ultra-wide shots, an 8-megapixel telephoto shooter, and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. The 9 Pro comes with a 16-megapixel shooter at the front. This one comes with a 6.7″ 120Hz (variable) QHD+ Fluid AMOLED Display.

The OnePlus 9 has similar specifications, except it doesn’t get the 50MP ultra-wide camera.6.55″ It also comes with a smaller 6.55″ FHD+ flattened display. OnePlus 9R comes with a triple camera setup and a 6.5″ FHD+ display.

Pricing goes as usual. OnePlus 9R is the cheapest, starting at INR39,999 and goes up to INR43,999. The OnePlus 9 starts at 49,999 for the 8 gigs variant and 54,999 for the 12 gigs one. Lastly, the OnePlus 9 Pro is priced at 64,999 and will cost you 69,999 for the 12 gigs variant.
