Just a while ago, Chinese OnePlus 6 has started receiving the HydrogenOS 5.1.11 update. As we mentioned, the update brought battery improvements and notable enhancements in camera. We also speculated OnePlus to release a similar upgrade to the OxygenOS as well in coming days. It seems the perception was apparently true with we now getting a hint regarding the next OxygenOS update on OnePlus 6.
According to the source, the upcoming OxygenOS update version 5.1.9 for OnePlus 6 will be focused on improving camera performance of the device. It’s said that the firm will be considerably elevating the image processing prowess of the software for getting a brilliant stills. The Chinese vendor quoted that the roll out of major camera update for the OnePlus 6 is as a result of the constant community feedback.
Even though, OnePlus flagships boards premium Sony Exmor camera sensors – the devices fails to compete with the other smartphone leaders in camera department. The slightly downgraded performance of the cameras on OnePlus devices are largely attributed to the par-below implemented software algorithms. For instance, the latest flagship – OnePlus 6 has managed to bag a score of only 96 in DxOMark testing. Which looks very under weighed on paper when compared to the score(109) of current top position holder, Huawei P20 Pro.
In spite of that, OnePlus has been day and night trying to improve the camera performance of its devices by software upgrade. In a bid to improve and constantly refine the smartphone experience, the previous updates significantly changed image processing of OnePlus devices and perhaps, the evidence of OnePlus’s commitment. That said, let’s wait and see how the OxygenOS 5.1.9 as claimed by OnePlus can impact the OnePlus 6 camera.
