Smartphone makers used to launch the different variants of their high-end device months after its official launch. Firms such as Samsung and Huawei like to push new stylish and glossy colored options, while certain others prefer to launch higher storage options some time later, rather than making them available all at once. In fact, the strategy is adopted to keep the sale momentum ongoing of the latest flagships, although it may seems like deceiving the early adopters. For instance, OnePlus had earlier launched Silky White colored OnePlus 6 in certain markets and now is up with a shiny Midnight Black variant with upgraded storage.
The Midnight Black OnePlus 6, apart from the hue and upgraded internal storage, is similar to the ordinary OnePlus 6 launched couple of months ago. As of now, the variant is released only in India and boasts whopping 8GB RAM and huge 256GB of primary storage. It will go on sale starting from 10 July on the Amazon India website and has been priced at ₹43,999. Amazon India has already set up a Notify Me banner to intimate you when the device is up for purchase, i.e on the aforementioned date. The device will be available through OnePlus India website as well as via select offline channels, however starting from 14th July only.
The Silky White OnePlus 6 edition has been doing pretty well in the U.S. market. But, its effect was not so remarkable in India. With the Midnight Black backed by improved storage, OnePlus hopes to grab major chunk from the Indian market. In India, most of the people favor evergreen and long lasting shades of the black color.
Just as a refresher. The OnePlus 6, in general, features a 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a notch on the forehead. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with Qualcomm® Adreno™ 630 Visual Processing Subsystem. Runs on the latest version of OxygenOS based on Android Oreo 8.1 is included under the list of devices supporting Android P Developer Preview builds.
