OnePlus has issued a to-the-point changelog that does not provide any major modifications. Although, the update resolves some known issues with several bugs and enhances the user experience by improving system stability. Moreover, it brings the latest May 2021 security patch.
The OTA update will roll out to those who already run the previous Stable version of the software on their devices. Accordingly, the build hit the units in a staged manner to a limited number of users today. It will steadily make way for all users after making sure there are no critical bugs.
Also, keep in note that using VPN to download this build might not work as the rollout is not based on regions and is randomly pushed out to a limited number of devices.
There’s good news for the users of these smartphones. OnePlus confirmed that both the devices are set to receive the Android 11 Open Beta version at the end of August. Keeping this in the notice and the update speed of OnePlus, it seems that the users of the OnePlus 6 and 6T have to wait till Q4 2021 to grab the stable version of Android 11.
However, if you can’t wait for that long and want to flash the latest stable channel soon as possible, we’ve got something for you too! LineageOS has been announced for the OnePlus 6 and 6T. That’s right, you can install the official custom ROM and get your hands on Android 11.
