The OnePlus 5T is just expected to go on sale today but reviewers have already got hold of the handsets. And they are putting it through its paces. One such test is the gruesome build quality test. The poor new OnePlus 5T was also subjected to this physical torture to find how well it will stand daily wear and tear. And it didn’t disappoint.
The test conducted by Youtuber, JerryRigEverything involves screen a number of things. A screen scratch test, the rear scratch test, and the burn test amongst others.
The OnePlus 5T screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, hence it is on par with other flagships of its stature. The rear is made of anodized aluminium like the OnePlus 5. Sharp objects like a razor will easily leave their mark on the phone but just small jibes won’t be a big problem. The fingerprint is immune to these scratches since it is a ceramic material.
The bend test also showed satisfactory results as the handset didn’t bend in pressure even after flexing for a moment.
The OnePlus 5T does not particularly do well in the flame test. After around a 20 second torch to the front with a lighter, the AMOLED display clearly was left with a mark.
