OnePlus has bet all its money on the OnePlus 5 this year as a flagship killer. Unsurprisingly, the phone has powerful hardware and a very clean Android ROM in the form of OxygenOS. This new iteration of OnePlus software is loved by many as an alternative ROM. But, even after more than a month of Android Oreo being official, the company has no ETA for the update. Even then, all is not silent on the software front and we have seen closed beta versions of Android Oreo for the OnePlus 3.
Now, we have confirmation that Android Oreo for the OnePlus 5 is also on the cards. Yesterday, a OnePlus 5 unit with Oreo appeared on Geekbench. Below is the screenshot. Last year, OnePlus managed to issue Nougat updates before the end of the year. So, it’s logical to assume that we will see the same scenario this year.
So, now we know that three OnePlus devices will definitely receive the Android Oreo update. Those are the OnePlus 5, OnePlus 3/3T. However, we don’t have any official dates yet. Stay tuned! we will update once we get more interesting information on the subject.
