In the Q3 of 2020, Nokia has officially unveiled the Nokia 8.3 5G device with Android 10 out of the box. But, it was already mentioned that the Android 11 ready by the OEM. Now, as per the roadmap, Nokia has begun cultivating the Android 11 update to the Nokia 8.3 5G smartphones.
According to the release note, the update comes with a couple of new features, the January 2021 Security patch, and much more. The update comes with many of the Android 11 features like Chat Bubbles, One-time permissions, Manage your conversations, and others. However, the changelog of the update is dropped below.
In terms of availability, the update is rolling out on the v2.180 and will be available for the following regions. As per the company’s information, 10% of these approved markets will receive the update immediately, 50% by Feb 5th, and on Feb 7th, 100% of these markets will have received the Android 11 update.

As it’s the initial rollout of this update, it generally takes a couple of days to reach all the units. Meanwhile, you can also head over to Settings>Software updates and Check for the updates to check the update status manually. Also, make sure to maintain at least 60% of charging before updating to avoid carrier data charges.
