With the Android Oreo GO now made available for developers and OEM’s. The next thing that the Android world is looking forward is for an Android GO powered device. While it’s certain that most of the OEM’s could come up with their own Android GO devices, it seems that the Nokia 1 will be the HMD Global’s first device under Android GO program.
As per the source, the upcoming Nokia 1 will be boarding low-end specifications. It’s supposed to have only 1GB of RAM and 8GB primary storage. Of course, the Android Oreo GO device is all about feeble characteristics. Moreover, the Nokia 1 is expected to come with an HD resolution display.
If everything ends up well, we can expect the launch of Nokia 1 to happen around March, the next year. As the Android Go devices are especially meant for emerging and developing countries, the Nokia 1 is likely to be launched initially there. The price of the device will be around €80 in Russian market, though nothing is confirmed yet.
Much to the fact, Google by announcing the light-weight Android GO OS, really re-ignited the low-end device’s future. Also, nullified the long-held fear that the upcoming Android versions wouldn’t be a cup of tea for low-end handsets having around 1 GB of RAM. Hence, the upcoming new year gonna witness more low-end devices powered by Android GO flourishing the smartphone markets.
