A new Sony Xperia device has just spotted on FCC database with feeble details regarding its hardware components. Interestingly, certain schematic datas hints a lack of 3.5mm headphone jack on the device. If that proves to be true, then Sony would be joining Google as the Android OEM’s to ditch headphone jack in at least one of their devices.
The Xperia has hit the FCC with ID PY7-21831A and is supposed to be none other than an Xperia flagship. Also, the documents revealed an overall dimensions of 152.79 x 72.42 mm, with a 5.7-inch display of the device. There is a likely chance for Sony to adopt the trending 18:9 aspect ratio on the device.
Well, lack of dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack, of course, doesn’t mean that you can never experience audio via earphones/headphones. In fact, the USB Type-C port can serve multi-purpose through which the headphones can be connected. The only thing that matter here is, you need an extra Type-C to 3.5mm jack converter.
As the device has passed FCC, the launch of device should happen soon rather than later. Or else, since the MWC 2018 is mere few days far, we can expect it to be one of the Sony’s menu at the event. World’s largest smartphone showcasing event, the MWC 2018 will be raising the curtain on 26th February in Barcelona.
