Motorola is preparing to launch a new device under the Edge series: Motorola Edge (2022). The handset will sit below that Motorola Edge (2022)+ that was launched a few months back. Ahead of any official announcement, the vanilla model has made an appearance on the Geekbench benchmarking website. The database confirms some key specs of the upcoming phone.
The Motorola Edge (2022) is expected to make its debut in Q3 2022. Going by the Geekbench listing, the handset has scored 745 points in the single-core round and 2142 points in the multi-core round of tests.
The portal confirms the presence of an octa-core processor with a core configuration of 2 + 6 at a clock speed of 2.50GHz. Considering this, it could be the MediaTek Dimensity 1050 processor. In addition, the chipset will be paired with 8GB RAM. However, we can expect the company to introduce the phone in more storage configurations as well.
On the software front, the website confirms that the Motorola Edge (2022) will come pre-installed with Android 12 OS. This further will be tossed with a layer of MyUX skin on top.
To recall, the smartphone was recently leaked revealing the presence of a 5,000 mAh battery. At the front, it is tipped to sport a 144Hz 6.5-inch Full-HD+ POLED display with a 2400 × 1080 pixels resolution.
For optics, the upcoming Moto Edge 2022 is likely to carry a triple camera setup led by a 50MP primary lens. Accompanying this could be a 13MP wide shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. Moreover, a 32MP snapper can serve selfies and video calls.
