Expect Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread to ship with this smartphone, although the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be on its way in due time.
The Droid 4 will support EG LTE, meaning that you could enjoy (theoretical) speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps for downloads and 2 to 5 Mbps for uploads. It will also be possible for the Droid 4 to serve as a hotspot for up to eight Wi-Fi-enabled devices.
