The Moto G4 Play is receiving the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update in Brazil. Since these updates roll out in phases, it might take some time to reach every country. But you will get it for sure. The update is 638 MB in size. And it will also add the latest June Security Patch.
The update brings some great features to the OS. The much-awaited Google Assistant will be accessible to G4 Play users now. Also, if you have a Moto G4 Play, you will also be getting the excellent App shortcuts. App shortcuts can be accessed by long pressing an icon. After long press, the user will be presented with relevant functions of that app. It is a really nifty feature. The feature was a Pixel exclusive when it launched, but now other devices are getting it as well. Apart from that you’ll have some bug fixes and improvements.
Normally, you should get notified when the update arrives. But, if you do want to check out the update manually, head on to Settings > About Phone > System Updates. You should see it if it is there.
