Motorola has confirmed that they are not going to rollout Android 7.0 Nougat to the Moto E 3rd generation. This is going to be for the second time that new Moto E series device won’t get update to newest Android.
In 2013, Motorola similarly didn’t provided the update to Moto E first generation device. Today, Motorola updated their Software Update Page with the notification that “This device will remain on Android 6Â Marshmallow.” Motorola has not provided any specific reason for making Moto E sticked to the Marshmallow.
Motorola may have not rolled the update due to lesser sales then expectations. Guys who owned this 4 month old device can get the Nougat via Custom ROMs on your own risk.
