Microsoft Outlook add-ins now make their way to Android

Starting today Microsoft has announced Outlook add-ins for Android. Prior to this, they were only exclusive to iOS. These add-ins introduced in February are available to commercial Outlook.com and Office365 accounts. So, Gmail accounts on iOS and Android are yet to see them. But that should change “in the next few months.”
Also, many add-in services seen on the desktop are unavailable on mobile. But from what we observed, below listed are present:

  • Evernote
  • Gfycat
  • JIRA
  • MeisterTask
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Microsoft Translator
  • MojiLala
  • Nible
  • OnePlaceMail
  • Outlook Customer Manager (Coming Soon)
  • Smartsheet
  • Trello
  • Wrike

To try out add-ins for Outlook on Android, go to app Settings > Add-ins and then touch the + sign next to the add-ins you want to enable.

Some of these add-ins like Gfycat and GIPHY allow stickers and GIFs sharing between co-workers, others like Wrike and JIRA are the more useful ones. These can be used for project management and streamlined communication.

However, even though Microsoft has made it official, the update doesn’t seem to be live just yet. Evidently, the changelog is also the old one and the add-ins aren’t working for users. But, since it is official, we might have to wait a bit to see the update go live.
