After Qualcomm and Xiaomi here is the Mediatek with the first processor that is launched this year. Mediatek introduces Helio P25 Octa-Core SoC especially for Dual Camera Smartphones.
A true octa-core CPU, the eight Cortex-A53 cores are clocked at speeds as fast as 2.5GHz. The chip also includes the ARM Mali-T880 dual GPU clocked up to 900MHz. The SoC will also support up to 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM.
The Helio P25’s Image Signal Processor works with phones equipped with a single 24MP camera on back, or two 13MP snappers.
The Helio P25 offers up to 25 percent better power efficiency than previous versions, and MediaTek promotes to deliver more power while using less energy. Mali-T880 GPU will drastically help to improve the graphics capabilities.
The MediaTek Helio P25 innovative 12bit Dual ISP offers:
- Pioneering Resolution: Up to 24MP single camera or 13MP+13MP dual camera
- Dual Camera-optimized: Color + Mono de-noise and real-time shallow DoF bokeh
- High Dynamic Range: Video HDR with full preview
- High Performance Auto Exposure: Turbo 3A to accelerate AE convergence speed by 30-55%
We are expecting to see Helio P25 in Q1 of this year.
