In October, Google started Actions on Google platform for developers to build integrate the Google Assistant into their apps and services. In December, they added conversation actions too. In this respect, Amazon Alexa is the better of the two with almost 10,000 skills. But now Google wants to step up their game and for that, they have announced a competition.
The contest which was declared at Google I/O and to compete contestants will have to develop really creative and useful apps. In return, contestants stand a chance to win money as well as other prizes in the form of Google products.
Google says the winner will be decided by ‘highest in creativity, relevance, quality and usage.’ There are also host of categories which developers might be interested in like the ‘Crowd Favorite’ category, or the ‘Best voice-only interaction’ category. The prizes range from $10,000 to $1,500 depending on the category. If you are lucky you might get a tour of the Google campus along with a ticket to next year’s Google I/O.
