Official List of 9 Sony Xperia Devices to receive Android Pie 9.0 Update

Google has announced Android Pie 9.0 few days back. The first devices to get the Android Pie 9.0 update are Pixel Series and Essential Phone which is already confirmed. Now moving on to some other brands, Sony today confirms that there 9 Xperia Android Phones will get Android Pie 9.0 Update. Few days back HTC also confirms the list of phones getting Android Pie Update.

Sony is always late in providing the latest updates, but this time they have confirmed the Android P Update for various devices. The list includes all the flagship and high end devices. The whole list of the Sony devices getting the Android P 8.0 update is here.

Sony Xperia XZ2

The Xperia XZ2 comes with 5.7 inches, 83.8 cm2  IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display. The Smartphone runs on the Android 8.0 (Oreo) operating system. It is powered by Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 845 chipset and Octa-core (4×2.7 GHz Kryo 385 Gold & 4×1.7 GHz Kryo 385 Silver) processor. The phone has 4 GB of RAM. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium

It packs 5.8 inch 4K display having the same specs as that of the Xperia XZ2.

Sony XZ2 Compact

The Xperia XZ2 Compact runs on the Android 8.0 (Oreo) operating system. It is powered by Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 845 chipset and Octa-core (4×2.7 GHz Kryo 385 Gold & 4×1.7 GHz Kryo 385 Silver) processor. Know more about Xperia XZ2 Compact.

Sony Xperia XZ Premium

Sony managed to use the Qualcomm’s latest chip. They have installed it with 4GB of RAM for 64 GB and 6GB of RAM for 128GB. The phone is powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and Adreno 540 GPU. It is paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage which can be further expandable up to 256GB via MicroSD card. It sports a 19-megapixel rear camera which supports Super slow motion 960fps video capture and it can also capture 4k video. In front there is 13-megapixel camera.

Sony XZ1

In September 2016, Sony Xperia XZ got launched. The Sony Xperia XZ is a new smartphone from Sony’s house with great features which is quite superb. The Sony Xperia XZ comes with 5.2 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display. The Sony Xperia XZ smartphone runs Android OS, v6.0.1 (Marshmallow), planned upgrade to v7.0 (Nougat).

Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact

The Sony launched its new smartphone that is Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact. Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact packs a 19 MP primary camera and 8 MP front camera for shooter selfies and video chats.  It is powered by Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 chipset and Octa-core (4×2.45 GHz Kryo & 4×1.9 GHz Kryo) processor. Sony Xperia XA2

Sony XA2 Ultra

The Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra comes with the 6.0 inches, 99.2 cm2 IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display. The smartphone runs on the Android 8.0 (Oreo) operating system. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset and processor. It has a spot of Adreno 510 GPU. The XA2 Ultra has 4GB of RAM. Sony says in its blog post that the users of these phones will have to wait for so long for the update. Although, release schedule starts from November 2018 which is still few months away. The users of Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, and XA2 Plus might have to wait for early 2019 for the update.

There are many Sony devices which are not going to get the update as they have some issues or are old enough.
