All the major smartphones of 2017 have announced and they are making good amount of money for the manufacturers. But, the OEMs are already aiming big for the coming year. Especially, to compete against Apple’s iPhone X.
Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9+ leaked specifications
Recently, we had reports and leaks regarding Samsung’s plan to announce their next flagship in January. The upcoming Galaxy S9 / S9+ might be showcased at CES 2018 early next year. Normally, Samsung announces their S series in March or April. This clearly means that Samsung does not want to lose their market share due to the new iPhone X.
According to latest leaks, the Galaxy S9/S9+ bears the codename of Star 1 and Star 2. Also, their model numbers will be SM-G960 and SM-G965 respectively. Both the handsets will feature 18:9 Super AMOLED curved Infinity displays like their predecessors. But, the S9 wil have a 5.2 inch display, whereas the S9+ will have a 6.2 inch display.
The S9 duo will powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and Exynos 9810 based on the regions it will be sold. Both will come with 64 GB of internal storage but with different RAM configurations (4GB – S9 / 6GB – S9+). There will be dual camera setup with fingerprint sensor below them rather by side. And surely, it will come with 3.5 mm headphone jack along with new AKG stereo speakers.
LG G7 rumoured specifications
According to Tech Advisor, the upcoming LG G7 will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 as the Galaxy S9 duo. Moreover, it might feature a fingerprint sensor implemented under the display rather than on the back. Also, the latest rumours say that the LG G7 will be announced in January. Probably, at CES 2018 similar to Galaxy S9 / S9+ .

Rumours say that even Apple is going to announce their second generation iPhone SE in Q1 of next year. It will be powered by A10 Fusion chipset and will come with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. For optics, it will come with 12 MP primary camera and 5 MP secondary camera. It will feature touch ID and will run on IOS11.
Thus, it clearly means that the Android OEMs does not want to lose their position they are holding right now. Even though LG’s mobile business going down, they do not seem to give up.
