As you know it hasn’t been so long ever since the OnePlus 6 came to the wild and it’s kinda surprising to see the unofficial development sector flourishing for this device. Initially with the Official TWRP support and now a nearly stable LineageOS 15.1 is embracing the device. Let’s move to check how to install Unofficial LineageOS 15.1 on OnePlus 6.

The new unofficial LineageOS 15.1 on OnePlus 6 has made the users joyous as it offers a lot of features compared to the stock OxygenOS – barring some of the minor bugs. Note that, the LineageOS we are talking now is different from the previous, buggy LineageOS GSI for OnePlus 6 and other Treble supported devices. As a quick overview, OnePlus 6 packs Snapdragon 845 with 6/8GB of RAM. It packs Full view display of 6.28. Further, it holds a 16 MP camera Exmor RS sensor supporting a resolution of 4616 x 3464 Pixels and the front snapper is powered by a Exmor RS sensor.

Pre-Requisites

• TWRP installed on your device. If not, see here how to flash TWRP on OnePlus 6.
• Before that you need to unlock Bootloader Oneplus 6.
• Download LineageOS 15.1 zip.
• Backup your Android device.
• TWRP-installer-enchilada-3.2.2-0.zip : Download
• GApps: Download 
• Get Magisk 16.6 if root needed.

Flashing unofficial LineageOS 15.1

Follow the steps one-by-one without any fail to install LineageOS 15.1 on OnePLus 6. Once equipped with the ROM you will get all the features of the LineageOS 15.1 with some bugs.

• Save the downloaded LOS build, TWRP Installer, GApps and Magisk on root folder of your device’s internal storage
• Boot to TWRP recovery.
• Wipe Partitions: Dalvik Cache, Data and System. IMPORTANT — Don’t WIPE the Intenal Storage.
• Flash the latest LOS build.
• Flash the TWRP Installer 3.2.2
• Boot to recovery again.
• Flash GApps.
• Flash Magisk 16.6 for root(optional).
• Reboot

You should thank the XDA Recognised Developer Luk1337 for developing such a matured build of LOS 15.1 for OnePlus 6. Well, the project is in its initial state and does have some known bugs that we have provided below. Hence if you can’t live without these features don’t proceed or wait for the fix to come in the near future.
