A couple of months back, Huawei launched the Watch 3 series after a break of four years. The lineup consists of two models— Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro. The company is now sending a new software update to the wearables that brings smart gesture control features.

To be precise, the controls introduce three smart gestures. The first one promotes contactless payment. You can raise your wrist and rub your fingers on the screen to open the Alipay QR code for contactless payment. While the other two are related to the calling section. You can make a fist and release it to answer an incoming call. Lastly, the call can be muted instantly by flipping the wrist.
To experience these changes, turn on the gestures via the Application menu > Settings > Accessibility > Gestures and toggle the smart gesture feature. Hopefully, the company will add more such controls in future updates
Both Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro are quite identical, with the main difference in the build of the two watches. The wearable features a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen with a 60Hz refresh rate. The panel offers a 3D rotating crown, 466 X 466 pixels resolution, and 326PPI. The build sports a stainless steel body and a 3D large-curvature mirror design.
The series powers its homegrown OS named Harmony OS as the company is banned from using Google Services. The wearables offer several features including 100+ sports modes, supports temperature, sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, stress monitoring, fall detection, ambient light sensor, sedentary reminder, and more.
