Earlier it was revealed that Huawei will not be providing the fresh Android Oreo software to most of its old devices but it doesn’t mean that the brand has stopped the software development for these devices. We are claiming so as the brand has recently rolled out a new update for its couple of old devices. The update includes the new security patch, Huawei is among the few Chinese firms who have rolled out this specific security update for its handsets, so without wasting any further time let’s know more about it.
The latest update is available for the below-mentioned devices for now. This aims to bring the latest March Security software package to the handsets which further include some improved protection features that are meant to protect these devices from any kind of vulnerability.
1.) Huawei P9/P9 Plus
2.) Huawei P10 Lite
3.) Huawei P9 Lite
4.) Huawei P8 Lite(2017)
5.) Huawei Honor 8
It was believed from a long that a brand using their own homegrown custom UI is a little slow in providing updates but it looks like Huawei has taken this statements seriously. The update was announced on 5th of March by Google. Huawei seems this time aggressive as they may have taken a day or two to finalize the software for their devices. Huawei is releasing it as an OTA update which means there is no scope for manual installation, the update might take a little longer to reach all the device units as the brand has several models of the same device for different regions.
