Huawei MatePad 10.8 grabs January 2021 security patch update

Huawei seems to run slow in the race of security updates, the Huawei MatePad 10.8 tab launched in 2020 is receiving the two-month-old January 2021 security patch. The new update enhances system security and privacy policy. Prior to this update, Huawei upgraded MatePad 10.8 with EMUI 11 from EMUI 10.1 back in Nov’20.

The update includes a minor security patch and does not bring any changes in the interest of users. However, it brings fixes for 4 critical, 1 medium, and 25 high levels of CVEs that improve the security level. Also, the latest software revamps the EMUI version to 11.0.0.150 from 11.0.0.145.

Typically, the EMUI is rolling out in phase-manner so it may take some time to strike your Matepad 10.8 but as always, you can navigate it via Settings app > System & updates > Software update > Check for updates > Download and install the update.

Alternatively, you can also use the support app to look for the firmware. If you are opting this way, open the Support app > go to service tab > click update > click on Check for updates > Download and install the update.
