At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019, many big brands including Huawei showcased 5G as well as foldable phones. Huawei came with the Mate X – the first ever folding phone featuring 5G compatibility.
The huge black coloured Mate X attracted various enthusiasts around the world with its amazing display and the folding design. It supports 5G networks with the all-new Huawei’s first 7nm 5G modem chip – Baron 5000.

Unlike the specification details, its availability information is unknown. Customers are too excited about how and when this device would go on sale. To end uncertainty over Mate X’s launch, Huawei listed it on the official Vmall Store in China. The Mate X appearance on the online store speculates official public sale is not too far away.

A listing on VMall also confirms full specifications. The Huawei Mate X comes with a 6.6-inch OLED Display which can be folded into a tablet to a phone. The Mate X comes equipped with the HiSilicon Kirin 980 – a powerful flagship processor by Huawei.

Huawei Mate X features 8GB RAM and a 512GB internal storage. On the rear, the phone carries a triple camera setup – 40MP + 16MP + 8MP camera. At the front, Huawei has cleverly mounted the fingerprint scanner on the display side, to remove any interfere while folding. In Europe, it will retail at RMB 17,000 which roughly translates to INR 1,75,000.
