It’s been almost half six months since we are hearing foldable and 5G devices are coming soon. Finally, today at an event in Barcelona, Huawei has launched its first ever foldable and 5G device for the public. Irrespective of specs, its price is even quite shocking for the users which stand for €2299 which roughly translates to INR 1.8 lakhs in India. We were talking about Galaxy Fold which is launched for $1980 aka 1.4 lakhs in India.
Huawei Mate X foldable device specification
As like of its design, Huawei has lured it with even more better hardware. Huawei has added Kirin 980 SoCs with dual NPUs for better AI handling. Further, it has endeavored with Balong 5000 modem for 5G connectivity.
Huawei Mate X display aesthetics
As like of Galaxy Fold, Huawei has its own display mechanism. It incorporates a single display rather than dual display on Galaxy Fold. The Huawei mate X carries an 8-inch flexible OLED display with minimal bezels. The same display is folded into two parts, either of which goes on its rear and front sides. On the front aka “main” display measures 6.6 inches while the “rear” one comes with 6.38 inch.
The foldable device design language
Its design fully incorporates its display. Its flexible display is visible mostly on both sides. Unlike of Galaxy Fold, its display differentiates the display with a small gap. It’s quite thinner than Samsung’s foldable device and measures at 5.4 mm thinness.
Huawei Mate x 5G support
As rumored, Huawei has introduced 5G support in the smartphone. It’s the first ever device which carries 5G support and even foldable display. Thanks to Huawei’s Balong 5000 modem which has made it possible to support 5G connectivity. The device will work with 4G and 5G networks.

Huawei Mate X will be made available for the shocking price of 2299 Euros. It roughly translates to INR 1.8 lakhs in Indian Currency and $2600 in the US currency. It will be available in major markets by the second half of 2019.
We hope Huawei Mate X is set to give a tight competition to Samsung Galaxy Fold. Its specs, pricing, and designs will have a greater impact on the new smartphones launching this year.
