Huawei Mate 30 series were launched at the end of the third quarter of the year 2019 powered by HiSilicon Kirin processor. The lineup consists of three smartphones namely, Huawei Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro, and Mate 30 RS Porsche Edition. These have been a part of various update programs and now Mate 30 family is receiving a couple of months old January 2021 security patch.
The new software update protects the device against threats by improving system security and fixes different levels of exploits and issues. As per the official bulletin released, the January 2021 security patch mainly fixes 4 critical, 1 medium, and 25 high levels of CVEs.
The upgrade version for Huawei Mate 30 is 11.0.0.168 while Mate 30 Pro and Mate 30 RS Porsche Edition are grabbing 11.0.0.169 and 11.0.0.170 respectively.
The update is rolling out in batches so it may take a while to reach out to your device. However, you can download this update manually by going to Settings > System & updates > Software update > Check for updates and then click Download and install if you see the update pop-up.
Alternatively, you can also install the software updates via the Support app. If you are preferring this option, open the Support app > Service tab > update > Check for updates > download and install.
