Huawei has now taken the wraps off the Huawei Nova 2 and the Huawei Nova 2 Plus as promised. Both devices are the successors of the last year’s Nova and Nova Plus. These two devices represent Huawei in the premium mid-range smartphone segment. So what do they offer? Let’s take a look
First of all, Huawei is seen gravitating towards the P-series design with these two devices leaving the Honor’s shiny glossy look.
You’ll see the biggest step up is in the camera, as both the devices now sport dual rear cameras sensors. One of them is a 12MP with f/1.8 aperture, the other is an 8MP with optical zoom. Even more astonishing is the front selfie camera pegged at 20 MP.
Both the devices are fairly similar except the Huawei Nova 2 is 5.0-inches and the Nova 2 Plus is 5.5-inches. Both the devices packs 2.35GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor and both have 4GB of RAM. They also share the same Android version of Nougat with EMUI 5.1. The Huawei Nova 2 has a smaller 64GB storage compared to the Nova 2 Plus which has 128GB of storage. They have expandable storage support up to 128GB, The bigger model of the two also sports a bigger 3,340mAh battery. While the smaller model has a 2,950 mAh battery. The duo also has 2.5D Glass at the front and a fingerprint scanner at the back. The Huawei Nova 2 is quite thin at just 6.9mm and weighs 143 grams. While the bigger sibling weighs 169 grams.
Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus availability and pricing:
The Nova 2 is priced at CNY 2,500 ($365/Rs 23,510 approx.). While, the Nova 2 Plus is priced at CNY 2,900 ($420/Rs 27,275 approx.). Color options for both the devices include Aurora Blue, Grass Green, Gold, Obsidian Black and Rose Gold. The two devices are up for pre-order from today in China and will go on sale on June 16.
