Amid the on-going tension between Huawei and the U.S. lawmakers, the company has been unveiling its smartphones as if it doesn’t care. Just a while ago, Honor the sub-brand of Huawei launched Honor Pad 5 in India. Now, in an event held in Wuhan, China Huawei officially released the Huawei Nova 5 series. The all new Huawei Nova 5 Series comprises of the standard Huawei Nova 5 and its pro version, the Huawei Nova 5 Pro.
The Huawei Nova 5 is bolstered by the newly unveiled chipset Kirin 810 based on 7nm. While the Huawei Nova 5 Pro is powered by the HiSilicon’s flagship processor the Kirin 980 which is also based on a 7nm process. Literally, they’re targeted at the flagship territory capable of competing with OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro in China. General specs and features of both of the devices are discussed further below.
The Huawei’s Nova 5 Pro flaunts a 6.39-inch FHD+ OLED screen, support 108% DCI-P3 colour gamut and full-range DC dimming. An optical screen fingerprint is embedded into the same. The front shooter is of 32MP with AI HDR+ support. The rear camera is of quad-setup comprising of 48MP main HD lens, 16MP super wide-angle lens, 2MP macro lens and 2MP depth of field lens for portrait shots.
From the design perspective, the Huawei Nova 5 Series adopts a 7.33mm thick body, crafted on the diamond cutting process, and a fully symmetrical metal middle frame. It has three colours of the dim forest, midsummer purple and bright black. Huawei nova 5 Pro comes with coral orange colour as well.

As of the pricing, Huawei nova 5 8GB+128GB version is priced at 2,799 yuan. Whereas the Huawei nova 5 Pro 8GB+128GB version is priced slightly higher at 2,999 yuan, and its 8GB+256GB version is priced at 3,399 yuan.
