The Huawei Mate 9 spotted in a benchmark listing with Android 8.0 Oreo on board. Days after, Today Chinese company has launched an Oreo beta program for the device.
Google recently launched its newest Android OS version i.e Oreo. Well, It is yet to make its way to most of devices in a stable form. Huawei has kicked off a beta testing program for the Mate 9. It is looking for 250 volunteers to test the update and this is definitely a good news for Mate 9 users willing to give Android Oreo a try early on.
The beta update is currently available for units running firmware version MHA-L29C432B194. Huawei might expand the beta test to more units running other firmware versions. It is still not confirmed when they will add more devices to its beta program but it is goign to happen soon.
Android 8.0 Oreo brings a number of neat changes and improvements over the previous OS iteration. It also includes picture-in-picture support, enhanced boot times, automatically filling passwords, and more.
Those interested in this beta program will have to download and install the Beta Friendly User Test (FUT) app. This app will be available from the Chinese company’s official website. You have to sign in with their Huawei ID and later, those chosen will receive the Oreo Beta OTA.
