HTC has not launched a solid smartphone for years now. The company even ditched launching a flagship device this year during the MWC 2019 time period. Even it exited from many markets and is expected to exit China as well based on reports. Also, the Taiwanese smartphone maker has not updated its last flagships to latest Android yet. However, that might change now as HTC schedules Android Pie update for U11, U11+, and U12+.
We want to share the release schedule of the Android Pie updates for #HTC smartphones. Please note, certain regions & carrier deployment may affect these dates. U11 rollout will begin late May, 2019; U11+ will begin late June, 2019; U12+ will begin mid-June, 2019. Thank you pic.twitter.com/eyeCdX5qWm

HTC shared their Android Pie update rollout schedule via the company’s official Twitter account. According to the tweet, only three devices will be receiving the Android Pie update. These devices were the company’s flagships for the year 2017 and 2018 respectively. There is another device named Exodus 1 focussed on cryptocurrency but it does not make the list though it is the very last phone launched by the company. As of now, there is only one HTC phone with Android Pie and that is U11 Life because it comes under Android One program.
The Android Pie update rollout schedule for HTC U11, U11+, and U12+ are as follow.
- HTC U11 – Starting late May 2019
- HTC U11+ – Starting late June 2019
- HTC U12+ – Starting June 2019
Do note that HTC does mention that the deployment of the update will vary from regions and carriers.
