Today, HP has introduced Pro 8 tablet that offers some exclusive features to the Indian users. The company has launched the new tablet range keeping in mind Government of India’s “Digital India” campaign. The device supports 22 Indian regional languages, voice calling capability, 4G-enabled, an iris and fingerprint scanner for Aadhaar-based authentication, thermal printer and magnetic-stripe reader for financial transactions and bar code scanner for inventory management.
According to the company, “The tablet device aims to monitor subsidy distribution through Aadhaar authentication, ensuring efficient delivery of subsidized food products under the Public Distribution System (PDS), comprehensive monitoring of various healthcare initiatives and several other benefits related to government schemes.
HP Pro 8 comes with an 8-inch HD IPS display and is powered by 64-bit quad Core MediaTek 8735 processor along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage, expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. The device packs a 6,000mAh powerful battery and features 5MP HD rear-facing camera with auto-focus and LED flash with 2MP HD front-facing camera. HP Pro 8 runs on Android Marshmallow operating system.
“These devices are exclusively made for India. Fit for outdoor conditions, the devices have 15 hours of battery life for field workers and are dust and water resistant. The 4G-enabled devices with strong battery ensure connectivity even in remote areas,” Sumeer Chandra, Managing Director, HP Inc India, told IANS.
