Honor 20i update brings February 2020 security patch and VoWiFi calling

Honor is gradually rolling out a new update for Honor 20i packing February 2020 security patch and some other features. The Chinese mobile maker is a bit late but at least they have provided the new security patch featuring all the measures to improve overall system security. Apart from the security measures, Honor 20i is receiving some other fixes and new features.

Honor 20i also received the VoWiFi feature allowing the users to call over the WiFi network. It comes handy if the network reception in your area is a bit low or you are traveling to a remote area where the network is not present. The Indian carriers like Reliance Jio and Airtel are offering VoWiFi service to its users across major cities and some other areas.

However, Honor has already rolled out the support for VoWiFi on Honor 8X, Honor 9X and Honor 10 Lite. The update weighs around 930MB in size and we suggest you switch to the WiFi network to save some additional data costs on the carrier network. The firmware version EMUI 10.0.0177 is available and here’s the changelog:

– This update enables VoWiFi features, and also includes Android patches for improved system security.

[Calls]
– Enables the VoWiFi features for a better voice and video call experience with certain carriers.

[Security]
– Integrates Android security patches released in February 2020 for improved system security.

The users can manually check for the update, by heading to the Honor 20i’s settings menu. Moreover, it will take some time to reach each unit.
