Nokia 3 unofficial development area is gonna flourish, as the kernel source code of the device has just been released. Good to know that, kernel source codes of both – Android Nougat as well as the latest Android Oreo 8.0 base are now made public.
Although it’s got good past records in providing major updates to all of its previously released handsets. HMD Global – the parent company of current Nokia handsets bears bad reputation in terms of releasing kernel source codes. However, for the past few months we’ve been witnessing a sudden attitude change from the firm towards the source codes. That was evident from the release of kernel source codes of Nokia 1, Nokia 6 and Nokia 8 some time around the gone days.
Nokia 3 Oreo Kernel Source code
Now, the Oreo kernel source code of Nokia 3 made open to public, that too within a month of the actual roll-out of the major update to the device. It seems, HMD is no longer interested in going against the GPL(General Public License). Well, that’s a healthy progress plausibly capable of making the unofficial developers as well as the custom rom enthusiasts happy.
Nevertheless, HMD has got handful of handsets under its warehouse, whose kernel source codes are still hidden. Let us hope, in coming days the Finnish firm will abide the GPL and come up with the source codes of even more devices.
