Earlier Google has announced its project Treble and if you aren’t aware of it then let us give you a brief explanation of it. Have you ever noticed that a majority of Android devices didn’t receive the latest Android updates? Only a few brands like Google and Essential are there which are providing timely updates. Let’s understand with an example, the recently launched Redmi Note 5 Pro from Xiaomi is still running on the two years old Android Nougat. The same story continues in terms of Security updates as well, a lot of devices are there that are way outdated in terms of security.
The Treble project from Google aims to provide quick updates on all the Android devices. In software development and rollout Apple is way ahead of Android. Even 2-3-year-old devices from the house of Apple are running the latest version of iOS. You can consider current stats as well, hardly 1% of devices are there that are running on the fresh Android Oreo. It is a major step in the direction of development as it separates the Android framework from the Hardware Abstraction Layers. With the help of Treble HAL’s are placed in a separate area within the system. This help brands to develop and release the latest updates in a short period of time.
Project Treble also offers quick boot time in the AOSP based ROM’s. They have recently updated the list of devices which supports the project Treble. We know that you may be eager to know that whether your device is on the list or not, don’t bother at all we are here with the list.
