We know, Google is experimenting a lot to get answers to few questions. SO in a similar way Google is doing something under the Project Moonshot to define Healthy Human. Under this Baseline Study Google will analyze 175 Humans and then after thousands to actually know the definition of the Healthy Human Being along with several other definitions.
This all will happen under a 50-year-old molecular biologist, Andrew Conrad, who pioneered cheap, high-volume tests for HIV in blood-plasma donations. Dr. Conrad joined Google X—the company’s research arm—in March 2013.
At Google X there are many other things going on but this Baseline will be much larger and will give broader data. In future it will help us to detect diseases like Cancer far earlier and will help to prevent rather than treating.
At Initial, Google will collect data from 175 volunteers. Data includes the participants’ full genomes, captured from bodily fluids and tissue samples, as well as genetic information about their parents, and the results of a battery of tests.
This computing muscle can now be used to store and crunch medical information and let other researchers access it more easily.
Baseline will be monitored by institutional review boards, which oversee all medical research involving humans. Once the full study gets going, boards run by the medical schools at Duke University and Stanford University will control how the information is used.
